One of the best experiences I have had in the ministry in the Amazon with the children, is to have the opportunity to relate with different people and also with the government officials. The Lord has given enough grace to be well received and at least be heard. I sent a letter to the Environment Care Office asking for technical assistance to handle a kind of “compost” we are having with the organic residuals. After a month that I sent the letter I received an answer: they will give us a agronomist as technical assistant for the rest of the year plus the donation of different kind of seeds plus some recipients duly marked to handle the different residuals, all these things directed to the children. That is the Lord that is the one who opens doors and gives more than we asked, the Heavenly Father giving His love to His children. “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:16.
Our oldest children went to the jungle to see how it is processed some plant to produce a fiber used to make necklaces and bracelets. They also saw the way that fiber is colored with different plants; the purpose was that the children learned processes and how to use their own resources. Praise the Lord everything went well, the children enjoyed the activity and learned a lot.
We have been working hard with the children in our current activities, two of our children went to Bogota (the capital of the country), to have medical attention. The two girls were submitted to many tests to find the reason of their health problem. One of them has a problem in the left leg and the other one in her left hand it seems that the growing of these parts of their bodies are not normal. We have been praying for that and we trust the Lord is in the control of the situation. We took the time to pray with the parents and rest in the Lord in this situation. Please keep Xiomara and Lisseth in your prayers.
Please do not forget to pray for this region, this is a beautiful place where you can see the Glory everywhere in the nature, but… people are far from the Lord, there is a lot of work to reach the Amazon people for Jesus!
